When Should My Child Stay Home From School

Students should not attend school under the following circumstances:

*24 hours after starting antibiotics for communicable infectionS such as Strep Throat or Bacterial Conjunctivitis (Pink

eye).  This list is not exhaustive.

*Influenza like illness (fever over 100.0, cough, sore throat, body aches, fatigue)

*Generally not well enough to participate in daily school day routine

If your student is not well enough to attend school, we request you contact your school's attendance office to report that they will not be in attendance that day. You may be asked brief questions about the student illness. Students unable to attend for more than 3 days in a row will be required to present a Physician note to excuse absences.

If your student has an injury which limits participation in normally scheduled activities at school (such as Physical Education) a Physician note is required delineating the activity level that should be followed in the school.
